Buying a pack works like any report purchase: enter the first VIN you want to check, pick the pack at checkout, pay, and the remaining credits land on your account.
Any pack of 10 or more makes your account a dealer account - the dashboard and API keys unlock automatically after the purchase.
How the API works
The same checks our own site runs on - three calls, JSON in and out, no SDK required.
Create a key
Generate an API key in your dealer dashboard. It is shown once - store it in your secret manager and send it as a Bearer token.
POST a VIN
POST /v1/dealer/checks with a VIN. We verify the data source has records first - a VIN without history costs you nothing.
Fetch the report
Most checks come back finished in seconds; otherwise poll the check until it is ready, then pull the report as JSON links or PDF.

Dealer FAQ
When is a credit consumed?
Only when a report actually comes out with records. Checks the data source knows nothing about are rejected for free, and an empty or failed report puts the credit straight back.
How do I get API access?
Buy any pack of 10 reports or more. Once the order is fulfilled your account becomes a dealer account: the dashboard shows your balance and usage, and you can create API keys.
Can I upload a whole stocklist at once?
Not today - there is no file upload and no batch endpoint. Checks are one VIN per call, and at 60 calls a minute per key a few hundred VINs take minutes, not hours. A VIN the data source knows nothing about is rejected free of charge, so a loop over a stocklist only spends credits on the cars that actually have history.
